PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — General Treasurer Gina Raimondo is approaching the $5 million fundraising mark in her run for governor, putting her far ahead in the money race over two other Democratic candidates.

Raimondo's campaign says it raised around $750,000 during the three-month period that ended June 30. She has raised $4.7 million during the campaign cycle so far.

Raimondo had around $3 million in campaign funds ahead of the Sept. 9 primary.

Former Obama administration official Clay Pell had $2 million in his campaign account while Providence Mayor Angel Taveras reported $1.3 million.

Pell, grandson of the late Sen. Claiborne Pell and husband to Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan, has loaned his campaign more than $3 million.

On the Republican side, Ken Block has $585,000 in his campaign account, while Allan Fung has just $364,000.
