WARWICK, R.I. (AP) _ Warwick Police say they have charged a man with multiple counts of vandalism for allegedly defacing properties throughout the city with graffiti.
Police said Tuesday they charged Nicholas Stocker of Warwick last month with six misdemeanor counts of vandalism.
Officer Gary Driscoll told The Associated Press that Stocker uses several signature marks in tagging properties, including local businesses. He says Stocker put up images of some of the tags on Instagram, which helped in the investigation.
Driscoll says Stocker is due in court on July 11.
A telephone listing for him could not immediately be found.
Driscoll says two other individuals are being sought in connection with the graffiti. He says they "consider themselves artists.''
The department says it will seek restitution for expenses relating to graffiti removal.
