CBS Wants Tony Romo To Replace Phil Simms

While it seems NFL franchises are keeping poker faces on about their wanting Tony Romo, there are other franchises that are making no secret about it—TV networks.

It’s already pretty common knowledge that both CBS and FOX are very interested in the Cowboy gunslinger but now we really know how serious CBS is about it. NFL media insider Ian Rappaport now says CBS not only wants him but is eyeing him as a potential replacement for Phil Simms.

And while you may not know it, it shouldn’t surprise you when I tell you that Simms and his current partner, Jim Nantz, are the top-ranked CBS NFL broadcasting team.

Yeah, so that would be like walking into a NFL team and replacing the starter your rookie season.

Something Romo is quite familiar with.
