Arkansas EMT Ryan Ciampoli was driving down a busy highway when the back door of a church van driving in front of him swung open and a little girl fell out. His dash cam captured the unbelievable footage of the four-year-old tumbling from the moving van down the road. He ran over and helped her as the van drove away, the driver unaware of what happened.
“It was unbelievable,” Ciampoli says. “Once I picked her up and put her in my arms it was heartbreaking. She just had this horrified look on her face.” He says she was unconscious at first but woke up and started calling for her mommy.
And the EMT says he’d normally never move a trauma patient, but this child was in danger in the middle of the road, so he moved her out of harm’s way. Unbelievably, the little girl only suffered a broken jaw! She was released from the hospital later that day and is expected to make a full recovery. Ciampoli was definitely in the right place at the right time that day.
