Damn, blood isn't always thicker than water. According to Daily Mail, Kanye West was forced to pay one of his cousins $250,000 to not leak a sex tape.
Another one of West's cousins, Lawrence Franklin, admitted this to the news outlet. It turns out that this incident occurred in 2012. That year, the rapper gave his laptop to a family member as a present. But then, another relative burrowed it -- and blackmailed West when he saw the explicit footage.
“The sex tape episode started his decline – he stopped trusting people,” Franklin said. “At the end of the day if a member of your family had taken you for a quarter of a million dollars – so they can complete their own ambitions – who can you trust within your circle?”
He added: “This was also around the time when his mother has just died and he takes a lot of responsibility for that. When you go from being a regular person to being a huge star – and having all of these mounting issues and being completely void of the normalcy that you once had – it’s tough. Where do you go? Who do you trust at the end of the day?”
The woman in the sex tape isn't a known celebrity. Franklin described her as a "fair-skinned black woman."
