Ohio Students Donate Prom Dress Money To Sex Trafficking Victims

Instead of dropping hundreds on dresses, hair, nails, and makeup for prom, some students at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in Akron, Ohio, are doing something selfless this year. They’re not buying any new dresses and are donating the money they would’ve spent to a group that saves women who have been sex trafficked.

The junior and senior girls are swapping dresses with each other for the dance and have also planned a fashion show to benefit the RAHAB Ministries, a local organization that helps victims of sex and human trafficking in the area. The money they raise will help build a safe house for girls ages 11-17.

The students hope to raise $10,000 by prom night on May 6 and are about halfway there. And while it’s a break from the traditional prom festivities, these teens say it feels good to give back to something that could impact so many lives.
