Giving Up Dairy Won’t Help You Lose Weight

As much as we love cheese, dairy products have gotten a bad rep for their fat content. And then celebs say it helps them lose weight, Khloe Kardashian swears that cutting dairy helped her get her “revenge body.” So should we all give up yogurt and ice cream to get the bodies of our dreams? Thankfully, the answer is nope.

Recent research tells us we can enjoy milk, yogurt, and even our beloved cheese and that they actually help with weight loss. And it’s not the skim or low-fat versions that we need to reach for - the fat is actually better because it fills us up more. The vitamin D, protein, and calcium in dairy products also help burn flab.

According to a review in the International Journal of Obesity, people who ate the most dairy while on a restricted-calorie diet lost 1.6 more pounds on average than the people stuck on low-dairy diets. So you can enjoy your yogurt, cheese and milk guilt-free from now on.
