We’re now one-day into the 2017 baseball season, and the self-appointed experts have spoken. Since these guys already know what’s going to happen, why even play the games…right? At the very least, this stuff provides good mocking fodder for the end of the year when the inevitable surprises come out. Here’s what their six gurus say that fans can look forward to seeing this season:
AL East – Boston Red Sox
AL Central – Cleveland Indians
AL West – Houston Astros (one picked Texas Rangers)
NL East – Washington Nationals
NL Central – Chicago Cubs
NL West – Los Angeles Dodgers
AL Wildcard – Texas Rangers (with nods to Detroit, Toronto, and Seattle)
NL Wildcard – San Francisco Giants (one picked the Mets)
World Series – Chicago Cubs to repeat (with nods to Cleveland and Boston)
According to them, you can look for Chris Sale and Bryce Harper as your MVPs, and Chris Sale and Clayton Kershaw as your Cy Young winners. Spoiler alert!
