Turning 105 should come with a big celebration. And Jack Reynolds marked the occasion by riding a roller coaster. But as he zipped around on the Twistosaurus at Flamingo Land theme park in England, he was actually setting a new Guinness World Record.
Reynolds is now the the oldest person to ride a non-inversion roller coaster. “I was amazed,” he says of the ride. “I was really amazed.” This coaster didn’t just “go round and round” like the last one he rode, back in the 1930s!
This isn’t even the first world record for the Englishman. Last year he became the oldest person on record to receive their first tattoo and in 2014, back when he was only 102, he took the ALS ice bucket challenge. But he says after living through two World Wars, a bucket of ice water didn’t faze him.
