Disney is fighting off a hacker who claims he has “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Digital pirates reportedly have a copy of the newest "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie and they want Disney to pay a large bitcoin ransom. Disney CEO Bob Iger didn't identify the movie when he announced the demand yesterday, but sources told the "Los Angeles Times" it's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," the fifth film in the Johnny Depp series. It's set to open May 26th.
Hackers recently released episodes of Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" in a similar scheme when that company refused to pay.
