Kids know teachers are there to help, but one Iowa teacher is really showing it to her student by donating a kidney to his dad. Nancy Bleuer is four-year-old Camden Peterson’s preschool teacher and when the little boy mentioned something to her about his dad, Darreld, being on dialysis, she wanted to help.
Peterson says the teacher asked him about his kidney problems and offered to find out if she was a match. Thankfully, Bleuer is a match and says she’s “ecstatic.” Their kidney transplant surgery scheduled for June 1.
“She’s an amazing lady and from day one she was gungho,” the delighted dad says. “Camden gets the idea that Ms. Nancy is helping his dad.”
