Woman Accused Of Faking Cancer For Cash

(Woonsocket, RI)  --  A 35-year-old Woonsocket woman claiming to have cancer is accused of raising money through a GoFundMe account.  Alicia Pierini is charged with obtaining money under false pretenses over 15-hundred-dollars, and access to a computer for fraudulent purposes.  State police say donations totaled about 28-thousand-dollars that Pierini spent fraudulently.  She was arraigned today in Providence District Court and released on personal recognizance.
