“Saturday Night Fever” Dance Floor Could Be Yours

The iconic dance floor that John Travolta used to spark the disco craze in the movie "Saturday Night Fever" is going on sale. The red, yellow and blue lit dance floor will hit the Hollywood Auction block in Los Angeles this week during the Profiles in History Hollywood Auction. It is estimated to sell for one to one-and-a-half million dollars.

The 1970's film tells the story of a working-class man trying to escape his life using the gift of dance in Brooklyn, New York. The movie went on to launch Travolta's film career, and boasts one of the best-selling soundtracks of all time. In 2010, the film was preserved in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

The same auction also features a set used R2-D2 from “Star Wars.”
