We now know why those "black coyotes" seen roaming Okland Beach in Warwick weren't afraid of humans. Turns out they are just somebody's dogs which got loose. Mayor Frank Picozzi has told local reporters that the dogs may be a wolf hybrid. Owning an animal that is part wolf is illegal in Rhode Island, so it's unclear what happens to the animals next. In the recent past, animals found to be part wolf have been relocated to new owners in states that permit such animals.
