It is with sadness that we report the death of a member of the iHeartMedia–Providence family. Veteran broadcaster Ron St. Pierre has passed away. Ron was a long time talk show host and program director at WHJJ. Ron St. Pierre also worked at several stations in the Rhode Island market over his long career, and had also worked at WPRI AND WJAR-TV. His radio career also included jobs in West Palm Beach, Florida and at WABC in New York.

Most recently, Ron hosted “Ron and Jen’s Great Escape,” a Saturday morning talk show with his close friend Jen Brien on NewsRadio 920 and 104.7, WHJJ.  Ron was an inductee in the Rhode Island Radio and Television Hall of Fame, as well as the City of Pawtucket Hall of Fame.

Ron collapsed at home on Monday night and died a short time later at the hospital. WHJJ Program Director Bill George, who hired St. Pierre for the start of his second stint at WHJJ in 2013 stated "We are all devastated by the loss of our friend and colleague, Ron St. Pierre. I knew Ron for 35 years and even when we were competitors, he was always extremely generous with his time and sage advice. Our condolences go out to Ron's family and friends. He was a true professional and was highly regarded both personally and professionally by all who knew him. He will be missed."
