Correctional Officer Pleads Guilty To Contraband Smuggling Attempt

A correctional officer has pleaded guilty to the attempt to smuggle contraband into the Wyatt Detention Center.

Twenty-six-year-old Kristopher White admitted in federal court that while on duty, he tried to deliver papers soaked with a Schedule One, synthetic cannabinoid.

Prosecutors say White was approached by an inmate who was working with people outside of the prison to bring drugs into the facility.

The inmate's texts and phone calls were being monitored and White was arrested when he tried to bring the drug-soaked paper to the inmate.

He will be sentenced in August.
