Parts of Rhode Island remain under a Heat Advisory until 8:00 tonight.
The National Weather Service says high temperatures and humidity in northern parts of the state will bring the heat index to around 100-degrees.
Due to the extreme heat, the Providence Department of Recreation is extending the hours of operation for all splash pads and some areas pools to help residents stay cool.
Cooling centers will also be open throughout the city.
