Rhode Island Energy says it is prepared to deal with power outages as a strong storm moves through the area today.
A High Wind Warning will take effect this afternoon and continue into the night with gusts of up to 60-miles-per-hour possible.
Rhode Island Energy says it has secured 180 extra crews to help if power restoration efforts are needed.
The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is also warning that it may need to restrict access to some or all of the state's bridges due to the strong wind gusts.
