The Rhode Island Department of Transportation will temporarily close the Welcome Center on I-95 North for renovations.
RIDOT says the building will undergo interior renovations and utility upgrades, including new restrooms.
RIDOT has installed temporary restroom facilities with heating and air conditioning for motorists to use until the building reopens in late fall 2026. RIDOT is also relocating tourist information to a trailer with security personnel next to the temporary restrooms.
The facilities will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
