Body Discovered In Downtown Providence On Wednesday Morning

A body was found in downtown Providence early Wednesday.

First responders were called to Washington Street just before 5 a.m. after a report of a person lying on the sidewalk in the freezing temperatures.

Police say they located the victim who was unresponsive and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there were no visible signs of injury.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
