RI House Committee On Education Discusses Anti-Hazing bill

A Rhode Island House committee is considering legislation to enact a statewide anti-hazing policy for public schools.

The legislation is a response to recent high-profile hazing allegations at Smithfield High School and Rogers High School in Newport.

The measure would establish zero tolerance for hazing and ensure transparent and consistent discipline.

The legislation introduced by Representative Joseph McNamara would also require coaches and athletes to sign anti-hazing statements.
