Driver Arrested After Crash That Injured RI Assistant A-G

A driver has been arrested following a crash in Providence that injured Rhode Island's Assistant Attorney General Steve Regine.

The accident happened at around 11:00 Wednesday night near Dave Gavitt Way.

Thirty-year-old Antonio Cueva was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed without headlights or the proper use of turn signals at the time of the crash.

After striking Regine's vehicle, Cueva's car caught fire. He is facing charges that include driving to endanger resulting in personal injury and reckless driving.

He was out on bail after a domestic-related incident and is now charged with violating a no-contact order.
