A Providence man who trafficked fentanyl on behalf of a Mexican drug supplier has been sentenced to seven-years in federal prison.
Forty-eight-year-old Willys Santana Ramirez pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
His co-conspirator was sentenced to five-years behind bars on April 10th.
U.S. Attorney Charles Calenda says fentanyl continues to devastate communities, leaving a trail of addiction, loss, and shattered families and his office is committed to pursuing and prosecuting those who profit from the destruction.
