Rhode Island's governor is reacting to the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that clears the way for the Trump administration to strip Temporary Protected Status from Haitian and Syrian nationals.
Governor Dan McKee says removing the TPS means the U.S. is deliberately putting many of the state's community members in harm's way.
The governor says as the nation nears the United States' 250th anniversary there should be actions that celebrate - not contradict the basic values upon which the country was founded.
