Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha says a suspect has been arrested and charged in a 2005 sexual assault cold case in Hopkinton.
Forty-one-year-old Robert Czerwein of Woonsocket is accused of sexually assaulting a 45-year-old woman behind a building on Main Street.
DNA from that case matched a profile in the unsolved sexual assault of a 65-year-old woman in Connecticut the same year.
Earlier this year, officials reopened the investigation and new forensic DNA technology linked the samples to Czerwein through a discarded cigarette.
Czerwein is being held without bail and he's due back in court on September 2nd.
