South Kingstown town councilors have passed a resolution condemning hate.
This comes after banners carrying discriminatory messages against Islam were flown along the coast last month.
Council Vice President Michael Marran says one of the banners read, "Islam is Terrorism."
The resolution stated that "anonymous cowards" hired two companies out of Westerly Airport to fly the banners.
