Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed is blasting U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for a proposed plan to live-stream the military execution of convicted Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan.
Reed says live-streaming an execution is a barbaric spectacle and another "stunt" by Secretary Hegseth to distract from his tenure's "repeated failings, which have only weakened our national security and standing in the world."
Army regulation governs who may witness military executions and does not provide for unrestricted public attendance, though it may be waived by the Commander-in-Chief.
President Trump has not made a decision on the live-stream.
