The National Weather Service says much of Rhode Island is under a Flood Watch.
The watch includes Block Island, Bristol, Eastern Kent, Newport, Northwest Providence, Southeast Providence, Washington and Western Kent County.
Heavy rainfall is expected and the watch will remain in effect until 10:00 Saturday morning.
Excessive runoff may result in the flooding of creeks, streams, and low-lying areas.
