While the snow storm that hit New York yesterday wasn’t as bad as originally predicted, it still made travel pretty difficult. This is why many Sting fans are incredibly upset that he opted not to cancel his show in the Big Apple.
Sting’s tour hit the Hammerstein Ballroom last night, and even though much of the city’s transportation system was affected, a note on the venue’s website informed fans that the show was still happening. "Hey Sting fans. As per the Artist and Promoter, the Sting concert is scheduled to take place as planned tonight at 8pm with doors at 7pm,” the message read. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Stay safe and warm!"
Well, needless to say fans buried by the snow were not too happy about Sting’s decision to keep the date. "Unbelievable. Guess money is more important than the safety of your customers/fans...,” wrote one fan, while another added, "the only way to 'stay safe and warm' is to STAY INDOORS AT HOME. Who the hell came up with this brilliant announcement?"
