That's Sir Ray Davies to you. The Kinks rocker is the latest celeb to be honored at Buckingham Palace. He was officially made a knight by Prince Charles in recognition for his "services to British music."
"Initially I felt a mixture of surprise, humility, joy and a bit embarrassed but after thinking about it," Davies says about knighthood. "I accept this for my family and fans as well as everyone who has inspired me to write."
While he may be humble about the honor, the pomp and circumstance of it all was a bit underwhelming. As Davies puts it, "It lasted three minutes and it went very well and I said goodbye and went home."
