Elton John celebrated his 70th birthday this weekend with a star-studded shindig benefiting both the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Hammer Museum at UCLA.
Rob Lowe hosted the event at Red Studios in Los Angeles, which featured performances by Lady Gaga, Ryan Adams, Roseanne Cash, Stevie Wonder and Elton himself. At one point Gaga and Wonder led the crowd in a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” for the guest of honor.
A-lists stars attending the celebration, which also celebrated Elton’s 50-year writing partnership with Bernie Taupin, included Neil Patrick Harris, Ryan Phillippe, Sharon and Kelly Osborne, Jon Hamm, Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, and many, many more. Stars sending in their video well wishes included Prince Harry, Ellen DeGeneres, Bono and David Beckham.
