Billy Joel recently announced his record-breaking 47th show of his residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City. As for how much longer it will go on, well that's anybody's guess.
“Oh, it's the greatest gig in the world. I'm doing a residency at the world's greatest arena – I mean what's better than that?,” he tells “Rolling Stone." “I don't know how long it can last. I assumed it would start to taper off at this point: "Wait a minute, we gotta run out of people eventually." But it hasn't happened.”
He adds, “This is our fourth year and it's still selling out. I thought it would kind of dissipate. But so far there hasn't been any indication of that. When there is then we'll probably stop.”
