Sir Paul on “60 Minutes”

Paul McCartney recently sat down with “60 Minutes” for a candid interview. In the interview, McCartney opens up about writing music with the Beatles, working out his feelings at the piano, and about his and John Lennon’s insecurities.

McCartney explains that even though he’s a music legend, he still feels the need to prove himself just like he did 55 years ago when the Beatles’ debut album came out. “I think if you care about what you’re doing, if you really want to get it right, then you’ve got to deal with insecurities,” he says. “It doesn’t matter how elevated you get or your reputation gets, you still worry about things.”

That also goes for Lennon, who he once gave a pep-talk after he opened up to him about his insecurities. “I remember him once particularly strangely, out of the blue, saying, “I worry about how people are going to remember me,” McCartney explains. “And I was like, ‘John listen to me. You’re going to be remembered as one of the greatest people.”
