Billy Joel rang in 70 years at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday night. The Piano Man’s friends and family joined him on stage for the celebration, which also marked his 110th show at the venue.
Joel’s daughter Alexa Ray made an appearance, helping him out for “New York State Of Mind.” Then Ray brought out her own daughter, Delia Rose, to lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday.” Peter Frampton was the final guest appearance, lending his guitar talents for the end of the main set and the four-song encore. After the concert kicked off with “Big Shot,” the first cameo of the night came via a video from Pink,who served up a little rendition of his song “Just The Way You Are.” More friends sent videos, too, like Paul McCartney, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, Don Henley and Garth Brooks.
