Eric Clapton played the first of three shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Monday night. He kicked off the show by paying tribute to the late Doris Day,and wrapped up the concert with another cover of a late legend.
Clapton closed out the set of classics and rarities with a tribute to Prince. Slowhand offered his own take of “Purple Rain,” giving it a bluesier feel. This isn’t the first time he’s honored the late music star. Back when Prince passed in 2016, Clapton wrote a touching tribute, calling him a “true genius” and “huge inspiration.”Check out fan-shot video below. video courtesy of YouTube.
