Queen was always a great rock band, but the 2018 release of the biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" made them relevant in a way that the band had never experienced before. Their music sales in 2018/2019 have exceeded those of the 1970s and 1980s when the band was making music. Today they continue to tour with lead singer Adam Lambert of American Idol Fame. Lambert does a pretty great job capturing the essence of Freddie Mercury without looking like a rip-off. To his credit, he also gives Freddie and the original band members all the credit for the band's resurgence.
This song has consistently placed near the top of our countdowns, and this year the increased interest in their music and the song's awesome showing in all of our local and national research was enough to vault it to the top spot.
