The Most Anticipated Movies of September!

It’s officially the fall movie season, which means a bunch of Oscar hopefuls are headed for theaters. This year, fans can expect everything from strip club comedies to space epics to Renée Zellweger’s return to the silver screen.

This weekend, horror fans should make sure to see “It Chapter Two.” If spooks aren’t your thing, we have the list of must-see Fall films hitting theaters starting next weekend. Here they are:

  • “Hustlers,” opening September 13th: Based on a “New York Magazine” article from 2015, Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, and Cardi B play a group of strippers who start scamming their rich customers to make ends meet during the recession.

  • “Monos,” opening September 13th: A group of young people living alone in a Colombian jungle go through fierce training exercises as they await detectives from the mysterious entity “The Organization.”

  • “The Goldfinch,” opening September 13th: Ansel Elgort, Nicole Kidman, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson,and Sarah Paulson star in this adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, telling the story of a man ends up in the world of art forgery after surviving a terrorist attack on the Metropolitan Museum of Art when he was young.

  • “Ad Astra,” opening September 20th: Brad Pitt stars as an astronaut traveling to the farthest reaches of space to find his missing father, helmed by “The Lost City of Z” director James Gray.

  • “Between Two Ferns,” opening September 20th: Zach Galifianakis’ parody interview show “Between Two Ferns” gets even more surreal as he goes on a road trip to restore his “reputation” after his “public access TV show” is uploaded to the internet by Will Ferrell.

  • “Judy,” opening September 27th: Renée Zellweger makes her triumphant return to the big screen as Judy Garland in this biopic, which takes place the year before Garland’s death in 1969. The movie is based on Peter Quilter’s acclaimed musical, “End of the Rainbow.”

  • “The Laundromat,” opening September 27th: Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas, Sharon Stone and more star in this comedic drama about the 2016 Panama Papers, a huge data leak that exposed the corruption of the world’s rich and elite.
