Freddie Mercury Solo Box Set Includes Video "Too Shocking" to Release

A Freddie Mercury box set, titled “Never Boring,” drops Friday, featuring three CDs with 32 tracks, a Blu-ray and DVD featuring 13 promo videos and interviews and a 120-page 10”x10” hardback book full rare and unpublished photos.

Well, ahead of Friday’s release, an updated video for his solo single “Living On My Own has been released in HD with enhanced sound. It was recreated from original footage shot during a 39th birthday Freddie threw for himself at Munich, Germany’s Mrs Henderson transvestite club.

The party reportedly featured quite a quest list, including Freddie’s ex-girlfriend Mary Austin and longtime lover, Jim Hutton, Queen guitarist Brian May and former manager John Reid,Culture Club's Boy George,Visage singer Steve Strange and more.

The song was featured on Freddie's 1985 solo project "Mr. Bad Guy" and at the time the video was considered so shocking that the boss of Freddie's label banned it from airing on TV due to "perceived promiscuity." Check it out below, courtesy of YouTube.
