The American Film Institute (AFI) is finding ways to bring a little magic to our daily routines amid coronavirus. So, they’ve launched a new movie club, “a daily virtual gathering to leverage our collective love of film on behalf of optimism int his time of global uncertainty.”
Kicking things off is legendary director – and AFI Trustee –Steven Spielberg. His “AFI Movie Club” pick? The 1939 Oscar-winning classic “The Wizard of Oz.” “I know you think you’ve seen it, but please think again,” Spielberg says in a video about the choice. “Because right now at this moment in our history what better message is there than, ‘there’s no place like home?’”
Every day, AFI will be choosing iconic movies for the world to watch together. And with each one, a new guest host. To view the featured movie of the day, clickHERE.
