Bruce Springsteen and wife Patti Scialfa kicked things off with “Land of Hope and Dreams” and returned to perform “Jersey Girl,” while Jon Bon Jovi, performed a new song, “Do What You Can,” which he wrote about the coronavirus crisis, and ended the show with the Bon Jovi classic “Livin’ On A Prayer."
Other performances included SZA, who performed “20 Something,” Charlie Puth, who sang the Springsteen classic “Growin’ Up,” TonyBennett, who took a cue from his pal Lady Gaga and performed “Smile,” the same song she sang on “One World: Together At Home,” Halsey, who sang “Finally/beautiful stranger,” and Fountains of Wayne, who lost frontman Adam Schlesinger to COVID-19, reunited and teamed with Sharon Von Eten, to perform “Hackensack.
The show also featured appearances by Jersey’s Jon Stewart, Whoopi Goldberg, Danny DeVito, Kelly Ripa, New York Giant Saquon Barkley, Stephen Colbert and Chris Rock.
The special raised funds for the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund supporting health care workers on the front lines.
