Hi! I need your help.
This year the American Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb has gone virtual. We usually run up 22 flights at the Omni Providence Hotel, but this year we can't do that for obvious reasons.
For the Virtual Climb for Air, I am pledging to walk and/or run 80 miles in the month of June. This year my late Aunt Jackie would have turned 80, so it's an appropriate number. Jackie died of metastatic breast cancer when it spread to her lungs in the summer of 2018.
When you can’t breathe, nothing else matters. My dad had emphysema, my mom had COPD and my wife Jenn and I have both had relatives with lung disease, including cancer, so this is a personal cause for us.
The funds raised will help provide patient education and support important research and advocacy efforts for everyone living with lung disease including COPD, lung cancer and asthma. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that is tied directly to the American Lung Association's mission and many of their constituents are at high risk, such as those with COPD.
