Fans may love Elton John’s hit song “Crocodile Rock,” but he’s more than okay if it never appears on his setlist again. The Rocketman says he’ll “throw a party” the day he never has to play the song again.
In a new interview, Elton says he’s never been a fan of the 1972 hit. And once his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” comes to a close in 2023, he’s vowed to never perform “Crocodile Rock” again.
“The last time I have to sing ‘Crocodile Rock’ I will probably throw a party. But people love to hear it,” he says. “It was written as a kind of joke, as a pastiche, and it became a big hit and people love to sing along with it.”
