Released in 1987, "Need you Tonight" was INXS's biggest hit, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Australian band burst onto the worldwide music scene with their third album, 1982's "Shabooh Shoobah" and was well known in new wave/progressive rock circles, but it was "Need You Tonight," from the "Kick" album that solidified their status as superstars. The album and videos like this one also helped establish lead singer Michael Hutchence one of the great rock n' roll frontmen of the late 20th century. The "Kick" album won a Grammy for best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
