Brian May Believes Freddie Mercury Would Still Be In Queen If Alive

Brian May is sure Freddie Mercury would still be fronting Queen if he were still alive. In a new interview, Brian says the late legend will “always” be part of Queen’s legacy.

Freddie passed away in 1991, and Brian still isn’t over because “you never finish grieving if you lose a family member.” But Brian feels Freddie’s presence “every day,” and he tries to remember the “great life” the singer had and the “wonderful stuff” they did together as a band.

“The funny thing is I feel more and more that he is kind of with us in a way, maybe I'm getting to be an old romantic,” he adds. “You get to the point where you're at peace and you think, ‘My God the guy had a great life.’ We created wonderful stuff together that is still making people happy, and there's an acceptance there and a joy that it all happened.”

  • ONE MORE THING! Queen has teamed up with Amazon for the latest Alexa interactive experience.
