New Jersey is set to honor some of their most famous native sons and daughters. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority just approved new Garden State Parkway rest stops named after such big names as Jon Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, and Celia Cruz.
Other famous New Jersey natives getting rest stops include James Gandolfini, Connie Chung, Toni Morrison, Judy Blume and baseball player Larry Doby.
The new service areas, done in conjunction with the New Jersey Hall of Fame, will feature artifacts, memorabilia and exhibits, as well as video monitors showcasing Hall of Fame inductees.
