Slash’s latest single with Myles Kennedy honors man’s best friend. Specifically, “Fill My World” was written from the perspective of Myles’ own Shih Tzu, Mozart.
Slash says he messaged Myles after writing a riff that sounded kind of “sentimental.” Myles responded with “heartfelt lyrics” that Slash figured was about “the loss we’ve all been suffering during this dark period”... but it turned out to actually be about the time Mozart braved a storm alone at his house while he was on a delayed flight home.
"It was heartbreaking to watch [on my security cam]. It terrified the little guy. So, the narrative of the song is inspired by what I imagined he might have been thinking as it all went down,” he explains. “And his plea to us to come home.
