Legendary and Warner Brothers are getting ready to make a sequel to A Christmas Story, and they’ve closed the deal for the child star of the original movie to produce and star in the sequel. Peter Billingsley is producing with Vince Vaughn through the pair’s Wild West Picture Show Productions.
The feature intended for HBO Mas is titled A Christmas Story Christmas and will be set in the 1970s with an adult Ralphie returning to his house to give his kids a Christmas like the one he had growing up. The studio is hoping to re-create the tone of the first movie.
Production on A Christmas Story Christmas is set to start next month in Hungary.
