The nominees for this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class were announced last month, including Pat Benatar, Dolly Parton, Eminem, Judas Priest, Rage Against The Machine and Lionel Richie, along with Duran Duran, A Tribe Called Quest, Beck, Kate Bush, DEVO, Eurythmics, MC5 and Carly Simon. So, who do fans think should get in?
Well, according to a new survey conducted by OnePoll, Dolly is the top choice to land a spot this year, with 33% wanting to see her get in. Surprisingly, Dolly’s the top choice for both 26 to 41-year-olds, as well as 58 to 76-year-olds.
But other generations have some different thoughts, with Ge Z (18-25) picking Eminem as their top choice, and Gen Z (42 -57) and those 77 and older preferring to see Lionel get in.
OnePoll’s Top 5 Hall of Fame picks
- Dolly Parton (33%)
- Lionel Richie (31%)
- Carly Simon (26%)
- Pat Benatar (26%)
- Dionne Warwick (25%)
Despite this poll, Dolly does not lead this year’s Rock And Roll Hall of Fame official fan vote. That’s led by Duran Duran, with Eminem in second. They are followed by Pat Benatar, Dolly and the Eurythmics. Voting is open until April 29th.
