Thanks to the new season of “Stranger Things,” a decades-old hit is having a moment. Streams of Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” have increased 153% after the song appeared on the series.
The 1985 single is featured in several episodes of season four of the show, which arrived on Netflix last week. And as a result, Bush’s song is topping music charts 37 years after it first debuted. “Running Up That Hill” is now her most popular song on Spotify after the surge in streams and it also hit number one on iTunes.
Since the latest season of “Stranger Things” is set primarily in 1986, the show also features songs from other 80s artists including Journey, Talking Heads and The Cramps. The first part of the season’s full soundtrack was released on May 27th and the second part will be available on July 1st.
