One of Rhode Island's most famous part time residents has an interesting connection with the state's most successful sports program.
If you went to a PC Friars basketball game at the Dunk last season, you probably experienced something strange but extremely fun....Fans singing a Taylor Swift song. For some unexplainable reason, the PA played, and fans sang "You Belong to Me," a teenage love song during timeouts. It must've been good luck, as PC went on to win the Big East regular season title and enjoyed a nice run in the NCAA Tournament.
This week the music superstar sent a note to the team, congratulating them on their historic season. Check out the Friars' Tweet about the note and watch fans enjoying the singing and festivities at the Dunk last season:
